This weekend was awesome! We had been with some close friends to Ponto Valentino as we had a long weekend due to the celebration of Whit Monday.

These 3 days we explored the Locarno region. We visited Vale Verzasca, Locarno city, and hiked 20km (1500m ascent) to conquer the top of Gazzirola mountain (2.115m), which is one of the natural borders between Switzerland and Italy. After the hiking we treated ourselves with a local beverage in a coffehouse at the colourful Isone (747 m) village.

I list above a photo from the trip. It was taken a few meters before reaching the top (~2.000m altitude). In the background you can see the north part of the lake Maggiore with Locarno city lying on its north shore.

Below you can also see my activity as it was tracked on map.
